HSBC unveils new Japanese ETF

Wednesday, 24 March 2010 12:00

HSBC has announced the launch of a new exchange-traded fund (ETF) focusing on large and mid cap Japanese equities.

The HSBC MSCI Japan ETF, available from today (March 24th), is being listed on the London Stock Exchange initially and will see further listings in Europe in the next few months.

HSBC says that the ETF has a 0.4 per cent total expense ratio and will hold all index constituents within its portfolio.

"Our latest ETF is a low-cost route to accessing the Japanese equity market compared not only with actively managed funds but also compared to other ETFs available in Europe," commented Farley Thomas, head of ETFs at HSBC.
