FTSE rallies after four days of losses

Reports from the US are expected to show the economic recovery is broadening

The FTSE 100 Index climbed 76.26 ponts, or 1.5 per cen, to 5,227.58, the first time in four days, in early trading as investors speculated BP shares have fallen too far and before reports that may show the recovery in the US economy is broadening.

UK ethical investment reaches record high

Investment in ethical funds topped £9.5 billion in 2009, according to Eiris.

Investment in retail ethical funds reached a record high of £9.5 billion in 2009, new figures have shown.
