Euro high-yield bond ETF launched by iShares

BlackRock's exchange traded funds (ETF) platform, iShares, has launched what it is claiming to be the world's first euro high-yield bond ETF.

The product - known as the iShares Markit iBoxx Euro High Yield Fund - aims to give investors diversified access to the high-yield debt market in the eurozone.

It provides exposure to nearly 100 of most liquid corporate bonds that are sub-investment grade, an area that, according to Blanca Koeing of BlackRock, "has traditionally been hard to access" in the past.

"Investor appetite for European high yield exposure has developed in recent years," the fixed income strategist added.
