Credit card debt running unchecked

Are banks offering credit cards without checking ability to pay?

Banks and building societies are offering people credit cards without running any checks to see if customers can afford to pay the debt back.

Insolvencies up 44.1%

IVAs and bankruptcies are growing

The last three months of 2006 saw a 44.1 per cent increase in the number of people becoming insolvent.
