Barclays makes charity and football credit cards cheaper

Barclaycard has made its football credit cards and charity credit cards cheaper.

From today (January 23rd), the annual interest rate on the Barclaycard Premiership and Barclaycard charity credit cards fall from 17.9 per cent to 14.9 per cent APR.

The 12 month 0% balance deal on the Barclaycard Premiership credit card and the six month offer on purchases and balance transfers on Barclaycard charity credit card are unaffected.

A 2.5% handling fee applies on balance transfer offers.

The Barclaycard Premiership credit card also offers 0% interest on Premiership and non-Premiership season tickets until the balance is repaid and a 10% discount at JJB Sports as well as the chance to win Barclays Premiership tickets.

The Barclaycard charity credit card donates £5 when the cardholder makes their first purchase with the card and gives 0.3% all further purchases to charity. Money is split equally between Marie Curie Cancer Care, Save the Children, the Samaritans and the Woodland Trust.

"We're committed to offering our customers value for money and these new lower rates mean customers can get an even better deal if they're looking for a football credit card or a charity credit card," said Amer Sajed, managing director of UK cards at Barclaycard.
