Money, family and health top worries

Britons worry most about family, money and health.

A poll by Citizens Advice reveals over half of Brits have one or more serious worries and nearly a third are stressed by their worries all or most of the time.

A third of people admitted they did not have time to deal with concerns and constantly put off facing up to problems.

Money troubles hit hardest in the Midlands, more than in the south or the north, where family and health were the main worries.

Those facing concerns with money are most likely to find advice from friends, only one in ten turned to a professional advice agency.

"It is very worrying to see that people worry almost as much about money as they do their health and their families. Our bureaux are now dealing with 6,600 new debt cases every working day," said David Harker, chief executive of Citizens Advice.

"If people are having problems we'd advise them to get advice and not just hope the problem will go away."

Among young people, money was the main worry - with a third with money troubles stressing them all or most of the time.
