Earn Nectar points with Sainsbury's credit card

Sainsbury's Credit Card is rewarding its users with four Nectar points for every £1 spent on the card in the store.

The deal, which is equivalent to two per cent cash back, is being highlighted by Sainsbury's after it uncovered evidence as many as 12 million credit card users are not earning rewards from spending on their cards.

It has identified a breed of "everyday credit card users" who use their cards in the same way they would a debit card or cash, for small purchases of £20 or less and then clear the balance every month.

There are 7.55 million of these credit card users, Sainsbury's found, and it estimates they spend around £3.64 billion on their cards.

Donald MacLeod, head of cards at Sainsbury's, said its credit card rewards those people for every purchase they make and was therefore the perfect card for them.

He added: "There are fewer credit cards offering any form of financial reward linked to the amount of money spent on the card today, compared to four years ago, meaning there's no better time to switch to a card that gives you something back."

Sainsbury's credit card offers the Nectar points for every £1 pound spend on the card at Sainsbury's. Two points are awarded for every £10 spent elsewhere.
