Sainsbury's Finance is to extend the period of 0% interest on balance transfers from ten to 12 months on its credit card.
Balance transfers are subject to a three per cent fee.
Some 24 per cent of all credit cards now offer 0% balance transfer deals of 12 months or more.
Sainsbury's is also offering 0% APR on purchases at the supermarket for 12 months and for three months on non-Sainsbury purchases.
The Sainsbury's Credit Card also provides Nectar points equivalent to two per cent cash back for purchases in the supermarket. Elsewhere the points earned add up to 0.1 per cent cash back.
Donald MacLeod, head of cards at Sainsbury's, said: "We believe extending the interest-free period on balance transfers as well as offering great rewards and 0% on Sainsbury's purchases will make our card even more appealing.
"If you plan to spend as well as transfer a balance it's worth taking a holistic view when picking a credit card and choose one that will also give you an interest free period on your purchases as well as enabling you to earn rewards.
"Our customers benefit from 0% for a whole year on their Sainsbury's purchases as well as earning Nectar points equivalent to two per cent cash-back. Nectar points can also be earned on non-Sainsbury's related purchases."
