Virgin Money has launched a new charity credit card to mark the upcoming London Marathon.

The card has a typical variable rate of 12.9 per cent and a lifetime balance transfer rate of 8.9 per cent, along with a two per cent balance transfer fee.

It enables cardholders to donate up to one per cent their spending to charitable causes, including Gift Aid.

Customers can change their choice of charity and benefit from discounts with sweatshop.co.uk and IHG Hotels.

"The Virgin London Marathon Credit Card offers a great deal for runners and for those keen to raise money for charity," says Scott Mowbray, spokesman for Virgin Money.
