Barclaycard has named some of the firms which will be taking part in the credit card provider's new rewards scheme.

LA Fitness, YO! Sushi and Firebox.com are among the companies who will be helping customers earn Barclaycard Reward Money when they purchase goods or use their services.

Goldsmiths and Nationwide Autocentres are the other two firms to announce their involvement in Barclaycard Freedom this week.

The new loyalty scheme, being launched in March, allows customers to earn and redeem reward money at the point of sale at thousands of small and medium retailers across the UK.

Alison Vickers, business development director of YO! Sushi, said: "We've been trialling Barclaycard Freedom in a couple of our stores and have been impressed with how simple and intuitive it is."

Barclaycard said it would be revealing many more participants in the weeks leading up to the launch.
