Confused.com comments on credit card battle

Confused.com has given its thoughts on the ongoing credit card balance transfer battle.

Head of credit cards at the comparison website Chris Griffiths stated the wide choice of top deals currently on offer is great news for consumers looking to save money on interest payments and existing balances.

"The new 20 month balance transfer rate from Barclaycard announced this afternoon is a record zero per cent interest free period," he said and noted it follows the three cards that are already offering new customers zero per cent for 18 months on balance transfers,.

MBNA was found to be slightly ahead in the best buy tables courtesy of a slighter lower balance transfer fee of 2.88 per cent and representative APR of 16.7 per cent.

Customers may wish to make sure they make at least the minimum payment on time each month, setting up a direct debit can help with this, in order to avoid losing the introductory offer.
