Halifax launch 22 month 0% balance transfer credit card

Saturday, 20 August 2011 03:46

Halifax is set to jump to the top of the best-buy balance transfer credit card tables with the launch of a new credit card that offers 22 months at zero per cent rate for new customers.

This beats a similar product released by Barclaycard in March that offered 20 months at zero interest for their balance transfer credit card.

The new offering from Halifax is in addition to the 17 month 0% card that is already available. The new 22 month card does carry a higher fee of 3.5 per cent rather than the three per cent attached to the 17-month 0% balance transfer card.

New customers can transfer a maximum of £3,000 from another credit card to the Halifax 22 month balance transfer credit card.

Both credit cards also offer 0% for three months on purchases and come with a representative APR of 17.9%.

Jasjyot Singh, Acquisition Director at Halifax Credit Cards comments: "We are delighted to be able to offer this latest balance transfer deal, our longest ever. With this new addition to the Halifax credit card range consumers now have even more options available to them, be it balance transfers, low rates or fee free cards."
