Virgin Money has launched its brand new All Round Credit Card, offering 16 months at zero per cent interest on balance transfers.

To qualify for the offer, transfers need to be made within the first 60 days of opening the account and a 1.99 per cent handling fee is charged.

The card also features six months at zero per cent repayments on card purchases.

After that, the All Round Credit Card has a representative rate of 15.8 per cent APR (variable).

Grant Bather, spokesman at Virgin Money, said: "We wanted to offer all round good value to customers and with this card customers are given a competitive balance transfer length, extended purchase period and low fees, as well as a competitive APR."

Earlier this month, Sainsbury's Finance launched its new Nectar credit card that offers zero interest on balance transfers for 15 months and has a rate of just 6.9 per cent APR.
