First-time buyer mortgages launched by the Yorkshire

A new range of fixed-rate mortgages for first-time buyers has been launched by the Yorkshire Building Society, offering free standard valuation, legal service and no product fees.

The products are available at 85 per cent loan-to-value and come as a two, three or five-year fixed-rate product, starting from 5.19 per cent.

According to the company, first-time buyers could save as much as £1,700 by choosing the two-year deal, compared with other mortgages on the market.

Tom Girling, product manager for mortgages at the Yorkshire, said: "We know that first-time buyers need a little help when it comes to fees. This range . offers £500 cashback."

The new products are available online and in branches.
