Britannia and Co-operative Bank cut mortgage rates

Friday, 19 November 2010 12:00

Mortgage rates offered by Britannia and the Co-operative Bank to first-time buyers have been cut from 6.09 per cent to 5.69 per cent.

The reduction applies to the money lenders' two-year, fixed-rate 90 per cent mortgages, which come with no arrangement fees.

Head of mortgages at The Co-operative Financial Services James Hillon said the decrease will provide a welcome boost to individuals struggling to get on the property ladder.

He added that customers opting for the deals will benefit from a high level of customer service and the flexibility of a number of direct channels of communication, including telephone, branch and internet.
