Wednesday, 04 August 2010 12:00

HSBC has announced it has introduced its lowest ever longer term five-year fixed-rate mortgage.

The deal is at 3.95 per cent and is available to customers at 60 per cent loan-to-value and carries a booking fee of £599.

It is part of a new mortgage range from the organisation that includes a tracker mortgage that runs at 1.69 per cent above the Bank of England base rate and has a £99 booking fee.

Head of mortgages at HSBC Martijn van Heijden said the products "offer the best of both worlds".

He added those after the current 2.19 per cent tracker should act quickly as it is only guaranteed for two weeks.
