Skipton Building Society has announced the launch of new fixed-rate mortgages.

The two and five-year products are available for purchases as well as remortgages and rates begin at just under three per cent for 65 per cent loan-to-value.

Head of products Kris Brewster explained the company is aiming to offer deals that reflect the needs of customers, stating: "We believe that these new mortgages will increase consumers' ability to find not just a rate, but also product terms that are suitable for them."

Skipton suggested the five-year option will ensure people have a wider choice, as it hopes to help Britons achieve the aim of becoming homeowners.
