First Direct is a member of the HSBC Group and offers a series of great deals on flexible mortgages, fixed rate mortgages and tracker mortgages.
The lender offers an excellent offset mortgage that allows you to link your everyday savings balances to your mortgage and lower the amount of interest you pay. For example, if your outstanding mortgage balance is £100,000 and you have £10,000 in savings with the bank, you only pay interest on the first £90,000 of the mortgage.
First Direct also have a protection scheme in place that covers you for 12 months should you be unable to pay your mortgage for any unforeseen circumstances.
