Mobile phones: O2 tops satisfaction poll

O2 customers 'most satisfied'

Friday, 02 May 2008 08:49
O2 offers the best customer services, according to a new poll of users.

Meanwhile T-Mobile was ranked the worst in all categories.

The survey, from moneysupermarket.com, found Telefonica-owned O2 came top in the customer service, value for money, communication with customer and overall service categories.

On the other hand, T-Mobile was voted worst provider in all classes, which also included technical support, network coverage, and ability to deliver what they promise – and although T-Mobile pay as you go customers also ranked the network bottom for its clarity of bills, contract customers reported they had the clearest invoices.

Orange scored highest on ability to deliver what they promise and shared the best network coverage with Vodafone.

Vodafone customers were also most satisfied with the network's technical support.

Pay-as-you-go customers were the least satisfied with their provider, the survey found.

Rob Barnes, head of broadband and mobiles at moneysupermarket.com, said: "With more phones than people in the UK its clear mobile phone networks have become extremely complacent.

"Pay-as-you-go customers are getting the roughest ride as networks focus their service on their seemingly 'loyal' contract customers; respondents placed Vodafone and O2's contract service top for most categories."

Some customers are already looking at other networks, as the survey showed one in seven (14 per cent) would change provider but feel it is "too much hassle", while eight per cent said they had already made their mind up to move providers.
