Friends Provident revamps pension site

Members of corporate pension schemes run by Friends Provident can take advantage of a new online tool to help manage their finances.

The pension provider has improved its online member tools, known as Etools, to allow people to calculate how much they need to save for retirement.

And, following the revamp, members can also take advantage of improved risk rating tools and more user-friendly applications.

Friends Provident revealed the enhancements were made to meet the needs of a society where take-up of pension schemes was low but retirement planning was become more essential.

David Millar, of Friends Provident, said: "Pensions are a long term investment and one of the most important investments people will make in their lifetimes.

"When set against a backdrop of stock market volatility, an ageing population and negative media coverage, retirement planning may feel like a mountain to climb. But the support and tools available to our pension scheme members have never been better."
