Friends Provident: Financial education for workers

Monday, 09 November 2009 12:00

Friends Provident is helping to make the UK workforce more money minded with the launch of a new independent financial education and support package.

The Friends my money and me service, available via workplaces, aims to help employees understand how to manage their money more effectively.

It is taught in modules by a qualified team of 15 consultants who will run workshops tailored to employers' needs.

Topics they might teach include retirement planning, money management, employee benefits and there is also a workshop on demystifying defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes.

Workshops can also be accessed by employees online.

Neil Hawkins of Friends Provident said: "As more and more employers start to realise their most valuable assets are their people, we need to recognise the importance of protecting the things that matter most to them.

"By helping employees manage their finances more effectively, employers can do just this."
