Royal Bank of Scotland launches phone/net account

The Royal Bank of Scotland has launched a new telephone savings account with bonus interest rates for those signing up before November 30th.

The accounts can be accessed either over the phone or on the internet and come with a top rate of 6.25 per cent.

For savings under £9,999 the account has a rate of 4.50 per cent, savings between £10,000 and £49,000 attract a rate of 4.75 per cent and savings over £50,000 receive the top rate of 6.25 per cent.

All accounts receive a bonus of one per cent gross annual interest - paid on the final working day of March - if customers sign up before the end of November.
