Coventry BS relaunches Poppy Online Saver account

Coventry Building Society has brought back its Poppy Online Saver account, allowing customers to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

The account has a market-leading rate of 3.15 per cent AER and is operated entirely online, allowing four penalty-free withdrawals per year.

It can be opened with as little as £1 and will hold a maximum of £250,000.

However, as an added benefit, Coventry Building Society will donate the equivalent of 0.05 per cent of the account's average balance each year to the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.

Colin Franklin from Coventry Building Society said the Poppy Savings products have raised £5 million since they were first launched in 2008.

"The work of the Royal British Legion continues to be as important and relevant as it has ever been and we are hoping this new Poppy Online Saver will lead to another fantastic donation," he added.

Some 160,000 service personnel and their families are helped every year by the charity.
