Prepaid my Travel Cash card aims to reward shopping abroad

People hoping to shop abroad for their Christmas presents this year could benefit from taking out a my Travel Cash currency card.

The payment method from MasterCard recently had the benefit of one per cent unlimited cashback added to it, meaning that people using it will get a reward from stocking up for friends and family.

Any money accrued will be paid back on to the card used the following month and there are no tricky terms and conditions to follow or commission charges.

With research from Santander showing that 4.2 million Britons spend 35 per cent of their festive budget on overseas websites and the same number splash out 23 per cent of the money they have saved in stores abroad, this would mean they could pocket a collective £8.6 million in cashback if they used my Travel Cash cards.

Myles Stephenson, chief executive of my Travel Cash, said: "my Travel Cash not only offers a competitive exchange rate but we go that bit further to ensure our customers are rewarded."

This comes after Post Office research found prices for goods are up to 62 per cent cheaper in New York and Boston than they are in London.
