NatWest brings piggy banks back into fashion

NatWest is bringing its iconic piggy banks out of retirement in an attempt to re-ignite a passion for savings.
For an entire generation of Britons, their first memory of saving is in a NatWest piggy bank - with Woody the baby, Annabel, Maxwell, Lady Hillary and Sir Nathaniel Westminster given to young savers in turn as they reached milestones with their savings.
This time is no different, with a new, gold, Woody (pictured) available to people opening a new savings account between now and April 14th.
And there is another added benefit, everyone opening a NatWest savings account in this period is automatically entered into a free prize draw that could see them net £10,000 to try and cram into their new piggy bank.
"We are thrilled that the NatWest pigs are back as part of this great prize draw, as historically they are the face of NatWest savings," said Helen Page, NatWest marketing director.
And as well as 114 prize draw winners, everyone picking up a free piggy bank could be in for an additional boost.
NatWest launched its piggy bank campaign in 1983, and since then they have become ever-more collectable.
Currently a collection of all five of the original family is worth more than £400.
