From today anyone taking out Alliance & Leicester's Premier Current Account can open a market-leading regular saver account paying 12% interest.

What is more, people recommending a friend to this deal receive £25 each.

"Not only do you have the chance to earn more on your hard earned money, but you can also make £25 just by passing on a good deal to a friend," said Richard Smithies, current accounts manager at Alliance & Leicester.

Alliance & Leicester's Premier Regular Saver offers:

A market leading interest rate of 12.00% gross pa / AER
Fixed monthly payments of between £10 and £250
At the end of the 12-month period, the balance, including interest will be paid into the customer's Premier current account.
