Co-op: Top current account

Tuesday, 17 February 2009 12:00

Current account holders at the Co-operative have given the bank their seal of approval in a national customer survey.

Research carried out by market research firm GfK NOP found 80 per cent of the Co-op's customers would recommended its services or products to others.

And 85 per cent of Co-op's current account customers said they were satisfied with the product.

In both categories, Co-op came out ahead of all the other high street banks, showing more of its customers were happy with the service than any others.

John Barker, head of current accounts at Co-op, said: "To be recognised as the bank with the most satisfied current account customers by the GfK NOP research is a fantastic achievement for the bank.

"These findings clearly demonstrate our continued commitment to our customers in every aspect of our service proposition from face-to-face service across our branch network, our call centres and online."
