Abbey account is the full package

Abbey is offering six per cent interest and annual worldwide travel insurance as part of the deal in its new packaged current account.

The Reward Bank Account, which has a monthly charge of £10, also includes Green Flag motoring assistance as part of the package.

The worldwide travel insurance plan is for a family and includes winter sports and golf cover worth £150.

And the credit interest rate of six per cent is fixed for the first year.

As well as the additional features, the current account also includes an overdraft which is interest free for the first £100.

And it also offers assistance in the event of identity theft.

Abbey said the total benefits offered amounted to more than £400 and could, potentially, offer customers savings.

Emma Walkley, current account manager for Abbey, said: "This new current account gives those looking to review their banking needs a different option, and one that will give them the highest credit interest rate available on a packaged current account."
