£27.5m lies in "forgotten" bank accounts

£7 million lies unclaimed in dormant accounts in central London alone, HSBC has said.

Over £27 million lies unclaimed in dormant bank accounts held with HSBC, the lender has announced.

Saver numbers 'hit two-year high'

80 per cent of Britons describe themselves as regular or occasional savers.

The number of people who say they are either regular or occasional savers climbed to 80% last month - the highest figure since May 2008, according to a new survey.
