Nationwide ups Champion Isa rate

Thursday, 01 April 2010 12:00

Nationwide Building Society has increased the rate of interest paid on its Champion Isa to 2.8 per cent.

The change comes into effect from today (April 1st). The product also offers a fixed introductory 1.35 per cent bonus for balances greater than £1,000 until June 30th 2011.

Nationwide's Champion Isa tracks the core rate associated with the top five branch-based Isas from eight of the building society's competitors.

"One of the key elements of [the] Champion Isa is that savers are safe in the knowledge that they will not have to chase competitive rates round the high street," comments Andy Hutchinson, head of savings at Nationwide.
