A new Albion Web Saver account has been launched by Leeds Building Society.

The product, which hopes to improve on the branch-based passbook version, has an interest rate starting at 1.35 per cent for minimum deposits of £2,500 and allows for unlimited, penalty-free withdrawals.

Kim Rebecchi, sales and marketing director for the company, believes the product will meet the needs of customers who want internet access to their account.

She commented that investors can now "manage their accounts online, whilst benefiting from a highly competitive return combined with unlimited access".

Ms Rebecchi has branded the offering as flexible and straightforward.
