Student account package 'improved' by Lloyds TSB

Lloyds TSB has announced it is to improve its student account package for 2010.

The new deal will provide an interest-free planned overdraft of up to £1,500, as well as a free NUS Extra Card for three years.

Customers will be given Youth Hostel Association membership extended to three years, along with 40 free music downloads.

The account also includes free mobile, internet and telephone banking.

Jatin Patel, director of personal current accounts at the organisation, said the product has been designed with young people taking control of their finances for the first time in mind.

The industry figure added it "is packed with features".
