Overdraft charges 'avoided with Credit Union Current Account'

Tuesday, 20 July 2010 12:00

A current account from the Association of British Credit Unions Limited (ABCUL) avoids the stress of exorbitant overdraft charges, it has been claimed.

The organisation noted its Credit Union Current Account has no overdraft facility and therefore allows customers to better manage their money.

It suggested this option relieves the uncertainty and stress associated with other bank holdings.

James Moran, banking services manager at ABCUL, said: "Credit unions aim to help their current account customers by not letting them go overdrawn."

He added charges incurred by customers with such set-ups can cause a significant degree of misery when they start to add up.
