The Halifax has relaunched a switching incentive of £100 for new current account customers until February 19th 2012.

It has been revealed Halifax is continuing to offer its student account product for 2010/2011 - which it claims is the market leader for such deals.

The Halifax Student Current Account is available to new and existing customers and offers an interest-free overdraft of up to £3,000 for up to five years.

Users will receive a Visa debit card and commission-free foreign currency and traveller's cheques, as well as a 25 per cent discount on AA breakdown cover.

Free 24-hour telephone and online banking will also be available.

Ian Hallett, director of personal current accounts for the organisation, said the product offers the potential for considerable savings.
