A base rate tracker ISA, which guarantees to pay the Bank of England Base Rate plus two per cent for two years has been launched by Leeds Building Society.

The account offers a tax free return for customers who are yet to use their 2010/2011 ISA allowance.

Customers who have already subscribed to an ISA in the current tax year are also able to transfer their funds.

Kim Rebecchi, Leeds Building Society's sales and marketing director, said: "This account provides customers with the opportunity to take advantage of any increases in the Bank of England base rate."

She added the minimum balance on the account is only £1 and it can be opened at any of the firm's branches, by post or online.
