Lloyds TSB launches new student account

Lloyds TSB has launched its 2011 Student Current Account, offering a range of benefits.

Available from August 18th for both new and existing customers, account holders will be able to access a tiered interest and fee-free planned overdraft of up to £1,500 in the first three years and up to £2,000 in the following two.

Student Current Account customers will also receive an NUS Extra card for three years, which includes exclusive discounts on over 80 brands including Amazon, Odeon, McDonalds and Pizza Express.

Three-year membership of the YHA is included, as are 40 free music downloads from eMusic and a free mini speaker.

Mobile Banking and free text alerts plus round-the clock internet and telephone banking are also part of the deal.

Jatin Patel, director of personal current accounts at the bank said: "We understand that starting university can be both an exciting and challenging time. That's why our Student Account is packed with features that will really help students to both manage their money and make it go further throughout their university life."
