N&P increases online bond rate

Monday, 18 July 2011 01:50

Norwich and Peterborough (N&P) Building Society has increased the rate of its online bond by 0.35 per cent from today (July 18th).

The 1 Year E-Bond provides savers with a return of 3.55 per cent AER on their funds, a rate the society claims is the best on the market.

Potential investments in the bond range from a minimum of £1,000 to a maximum of £1 million, while any funds must come from a non-N&P account.

Gary Lacey, savings manager at N&P, described the move as "good news for people who want to make their money work harder for them".

"Putting away some cash now in our market-leading 1 Year E-Bond will give these savvy savers a welcome financial boost when they see their money return with interest - just in time for summer holidays next year," he added.

There is no early access or closure during the term of the bond and no additional deposits can be made.
