Monday, 05 December 2011 03:07

The Post Office has announced changes to some of its savings products that should help customers to get the best from them.

From tomorrow (December 6th 2011), there will be no charge for withdrawals from the Instant Saver account no matter how many take place, whereas before it cost £1 for each transaction after an initial six free.

Furthermore, the Post Office guarantees to match the Bank of England Base Rate percentage changes for its branch-based Instant Saver, Reward Saver, Cash ISA and Easy Saver accounts until January 1st 2013.

The organisation's Richard Norman said it knows customers want to maximise their savings and sometimes access money quickly, commenting: "We want to help make saving easier, more flexible and more rewarding."

It was recently announced by the Post Office that its home contents insurance receives an automatic ten per cent boost in protection over Christmas in order to ensure gifts, food and drink is covered.
