Halifax launches new mobile banking app for customers

Tuesday, 20 December 2011 04:39

Halifax customers will now be able to benefit from doing their banking on the go after the company launched a new app for smartphones.

The Mobile Banking app will work on all the most popular platforms and will allow people to find their nearest branch and locate nearby ATMs.

Users will also have the ability to log on and pay bills, check balances and make transfers between Halifax personal accounts, among other functions.

Halifax's David Nicholson said: "This is another example of Halifax delivering new and innovative ways to support our customers, ensuring advancements in technology can be used to improve our customers' experience."

People using the app have been assured that they are protected from online fraud by the latest security measures.

Recent research from Mintel found that 36 per cent of Britons now use a smartphone, compared to only nine per cent two years ago. This is higher than the Europe-wide average of 18 per cent, Forrester pointed out.
