Coventry BS launches short term savings bond paying 3.65%

Coventry Building Society has unveiled two new savings accounts today – a telephone based, easy access saver and a short term fixed rate bond.

Telephone Saver offers a return of 3.25 per cent AER, which includes a 1.25 per cent AER bonus for the first 12 months.

To open an account, the minimum required deposit is £500 and the maximum investment is £250,000, while unlimited withdrawals are allowed for a minimum of £500.

Minimum deposits of £500 can be made into the account until October 31.

Meanwhile, the Short Term Bond pays savers 3.65 per cent AER/ gross at a fixed rate until December 2013, but no withdrawals are permitted.

Colin Franklin at Coventry Building Society, said: “We are delighted to be launching two great savings accounts, both best buys in their respective markets.

“Whether savers are looking for a great, telephone based, easy access account or a best buy fixed rate bond, there is something for everyone.”
